IRCTC Train Ticket Rules: Most of Indian peoples travel by trains and books the ticket by IRCTC App and website. But as per new IRCTC update now you can not book tickets or can not travel by train if you not fulfill these new 3 Big Updates. IRCTC done 3 big changes
Indian Railways done following 3 big changes regarding ticket booking and for feasibility of passengers.
1. Tatkal Ticket Aadhaar Verification
To avoid agents black use in tatkal ticket booking, indian railways now made new rule that “For tatkal ticket booking Aadhaar authentication is compulsory“. Without Aadhaar authentication you can not book Tatkal ticket from 1 July 2025. This big change is done by Railway Ministry and it is officially declared by Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw via social media post.
It is very good decision taken by government but for that everyone should note the last date 1 July 2025. Otherwise if you didn’t authenticate your aadhaar then you can not book tatkal ticket.
2. Aadhaar OTP Mandatory
Date for Aadhaar authentication is 1 July but after 15 July aadhaar OTP will be compulsory for tatkal ticket booking. When you will start booking ticket on IRCTC app or website there you must want to enter your aadhaar based OTP which will receive on your mobile phone. If not linked your mobile number to Aadhaar then it needs to do on priority.
3. Alert For Railway Agents
Indian railway ministry taken one more big decision against all railway ticket booking agents and in the favor of Passengers. As per the new rule now Agents can not book Tatkal ticket of AC Class from 10 am to 10:30 am. Also can not book tatkal ticket of Non AC Class from 11 am to 11:30 am.
As all of you will know that Tatkal ticket bookings of AC Class start from 10 am and at 11 am of Non AC Class. So now you will get first 30 min time slot without any involvement of Agents. It means it will make more availability for real passengers.
